Environmental Mile

was birthed as a result of the Tawfilis' participation in the United Nations Environment Program Millennium International Children's Conference (ICC - Tunza) on the Environment held in Eastbourne, England during the Millennium in the year 2000, and for their passion and support of UNEP's work. Mrs. Tawfilis was the champion who led the efforts to bring the UNEP ICC to the USA in 2004. The Environmental Mile is dedicated to Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau, in honor of the work they do with the foundation they established (Earth Echoes), and as a legacy from their famous grandfather, Jacques Cousteau. The Environmental Mural Mile is a pictoral journey depicting children's concerns about saving the earth for generations to come.
