Here is a picture of one mural from Samoa. It has the Head of States Handprint in the middle. Is this the first Head of State to paint on a mural? I have also included the local art coordinators interpretation of the mural, which I believe gives a keen insight into the Samoan culture of Peace. The second photo is a picture with the Head of State in the middle when the mural was presented on the international day of Peace Sept 2007 in Samoa. There is also the Regional Representative to the UN, The Minister of Health, The Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, The International President of PPSEAWA (Pan-Pacific South East Asia Women*s Association),and other local members of PPSEAAWA. We just wanted to share that we were interviewed and put on National TV news today in Samoa. I had organized the Art Miles Mural Project Samoa at art school here as you know…and we got a lot of press and there was a beautiful ceremony marking the beginning of the first mural that will be painted by the students and village kids starting today! There was beautiful singing and we were just amazed that it was your vision for peace through the art murals that brought the people together today. I gave a speech in Samoan and English about peace and the murals and how they represent world peace and about you too and how you started them in Bosnia. Also I talked about the children and how they will be ones to bring peace to the world. There will be 10 murals donated here in Samoa and we are happy to be donating our time (part of our mission with raw shakti yoga as you probably know is to always give back to the countries we visit through volunteering our time to projects that build community such as your art murals!) to facilitate them and the fact that they will join with the other murals being painted from all over the world is amazing. We would even like to be there when they are wrapped around the great pyramid of Egypt in 2010 to support your amazing work. The theme today for the mural was Peace through Sports as we worked on a sports mural. We will also hope to unveil the ones that are created in Samoa at the South Pacific games here in August.

Thanks for your vision that started it all! Attatched is an article that was written about the one happening at the local school and a picture of one completed from Peace Corps Samoa. Also, a picture of the children working on the mural!
