My grade 3/4 class was so excited to complete their sports mural. My class loved to participate in sports and they wanted to show the world how athletics could bring people together as a team. They worked hard for several months planning on their mural design, but they really didn't understand how large the mural would be. Once they started working on the mural you could see the excitement in their faces. The class was divided into six groups. Each group worked collaboratively to bring their vision alive. It was beautiful to see the differences in creativity among all the students. Everyone had something special to contribute to the project. Once all of the sections of the mural were completed I was ready to reveal how all the parts came together. Words cannot describe my students' reactions. They were simply ecstatic! We displayed our completed mural in the front foyer of our school. Parents, teachers and students were able to share this wonderful experience with us. We hope to create another mural next year.
